CEP 841: Classroom Management in the Inclusive Classroom |
TE 846: Accommodating Differences in Literacy Learners |
Instructor: Dr. Troy MariageThis impactful class was centered around the concept of building an "inclusive learning community." Students developed an understanding of the special and unique needs children bring to education, and how teachers should encourage students to "self-assess" their own academic and behavioral awareness. At its core, this course provides a framework for thinking about behavioral and disciplinary practices, and making meaningful accommodations for students with academic or behavioral needs. Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports, Response to Interventions, and Functional Behavior Assessments were primary focuses of this course.

Instructor: Davena JacksonIn TE 846, the instructor assisted the students in learning the importance of reading and writing assessments. Students spent many hours breaking down research on best literacy practices and formulating lessons to use this research in practice. In this project, students measured the growth of a student and crafted lessons to meet their literacy needs.
